Overview

ShareText ("we", "us") provides a simple way to create and share text links. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the service.

What we collect

• Account data: If you register, we store your name, email, and credentials needed to operate your account (including security features you enable).
• Content you create: Notes you save, share links, optional comments (when enabled), and related metadata needed to run the product (for example expiration, access settings, and view counts).
• Reports: If someone reports a note, we may store the reason, details you provide, and technical metadata such as IP address and browser information to investigate abuse and protect the service.
• Technical logs: Standard server and application logs may include IP addresses, timestamps, and request information for security and reliability.

How we use information

We use the above to provide and secure the service, send transactional email (such as verification or password reset), respond to reports, prevent abuse, and comply with law when required.

Sharing

We do not sell your note content. We use processors (for example email delivery and hosting) as needed to run the site. Content you publish via a share link is available to anyone who has that link (and any password you set).

Retention & deletion

We keep data as long as needed to operate the service and honor note lifetimes (including expiry and burn-after-view behavior). You may delete notes you own where the product allows it. Contact us if you need help with account-related requests.
