Which breaks are real
The whole job is telling structure from wrapping. A blank line means the writer ended a paragraph. A line starting with a bullet, a number or an indent means a list. Everything else is a sentence that ran out of room on the page — and that is what gets joined.
A worked example
Copy two paragraphs out of a report PDF and you get about a dozen short lines, one of them ending in "inter-". This returns two paragraphs, with "international" spelled properly, and tells you it joined ten lines — the count that confirms it found the paragraphs you expected rather than inventing new ones.
Then clean it
Text out of a PDF usually carries more than bad line breaks: double spaces, non-breaking spaces and the odd invisible character come with it. Send the result to the text cleaner to finish the job in one more step.

Is this line break remover free?

Why does text from a PDF break in the wrong places?
A PDF stores where each line was printed, not where the sentences end. Copying it gives you the line breaks of the page — every 70 characters or so — rather than of the writing, which is why the paste reads like a column of fragments.
Will it destroy my paragraphs?
No. A blank line marks a paragraph, and those are kept by default: only the breaks inside a paragraph are joined. Turn off "Keep paragraphs" if you genuinely want everything on one line.
What happens to bullet points and numbered lists?
They stay on their own lines. A line starting with a bullet, a dash, a number or an indent is structure rather than a wrapped sentence, so it is left where it is.
What is the hyphen option for?
Typeset text splits long words across lines with a hyphen — "inter-" at the end of one line and "national" at the start of the next. Joining those naively gives you "inter- national", so the hyphen is removed and the word put back together.
Is my text uploaded?
